How to Turn Off Windows Animation In Windows Vista:

If you're tired of seeing windows zoom in and out every time you switch between applications but you would like to keep the Aero feature in tact, it is simple to turn off only windows animation. Here's how:

1. Click Start

2. In the Search field, type in:SystemsPropertiesPerformance

3. Press Enter on your keyboard

4. Uncheck the option titled: Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing

5. Click Apply
