Issue: Windows Media Center has stopped working and needs to close for Windows Vista

Occurs when you launch Media Center on Windows Vista PC.

Resolution:
1- Close Media Center
2- Click Start -> Computer -> Organize -> Folder and Search Options -> View
3- Select the Option which says “Show Hidden Files and Folder”, Apply and Ok
4- Browse to the following location on the C Drive.

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome

5- Under the eHome folder you will find some files and subfolders, please ensure that you delete all the files under each and every folder.

Note – Do not delete any of the folders (Just the files under eHome folder and the files under the subfolders). This will delete the default settings and TV recordings done by Media Center in the past, so please inform the customer beforehand.

6- Close the Windows Explorer
7- Restart Media Center
